8"x10" Grévy's Zebra

This cyanotype, taken between 1900-1910, captures a Grévy's zebra residing in the National Zoological Park. This zoo, which opened in 1889 in Washington D.C., is part of the Smithsonian Institution and remains open and free to the public today. This species of zebra is the largest, most independent, and most endangered of all zebras; since the creation of this photo, their numbers have dwindled down to just over 3,000 total across the planet.
