Japanese artist Hashimoto Okiie was a printmaker and educator whose disciplined craftsmanship helped shape the sōsaku-hanga, or creative print, movement. A teacher by training, he found in woodblock printmaking a meditative balance between structure and serenity. Deeply enamored with Japan’s architectural heritage—especially its castles—Hashimoto used precise geometry and gentle color to evoke both strength and stillness.

In Young Girl with Iris, he turns that same sensibility toward the human form: a seated girl framed by tall irises, their vertical rhythm echoing her quiet composure. This archival art print and museum reproduction brings mid-century Japanese elegance into modern interiors, ideal as vintage wall art or gallery wall decor.
